Film: Let's Be Cops

GENRE:
Comedy
RATING: R for language, violence and nudity
RUNTIME: 1 hours and 44 minutes
STARRING: Jake Johnson (New Girl, Safety Not Guaranteed)
Damon Wayans Jr. (Happy Endings), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries)
DIRECTOR: Luke Greenfield  (The Animal, Girl Next Door)
WRITERS: Greenfield & Nicholas Thomas (newcomers)
PLOT: Two losers dress up as cops and take it way too far.

FIVE OBSERVATIONS:
1 It was a funny movie but most of the comedy bits could be found in the trailers. There were a few great moments scattered throughout.
2 Johnson and the character he plays gives it his all in this film. Their commitment is what makes this film work. He’s a pretty funny guy.
3 Wayans Jr’s character gets some great stuff but he plays the ‘I don’t wanna do this anymore’ card a little too often.
4 It was weird seeing Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street) in a more serious role. He was still good though.
5 Love the Michael Bay slow motion rise shot.

RECOMMENDATION: Wait for Netflix
UPCOMING REVIEWS: Emmy predictions, Sin City 2
